Latest Additions:

It's that time at the beginning of the year when the latest records to escape from our Privacy Policy restrictions are published. In other words, 66 transcribed parish register entries for people known or assumed to have been born in 1918 are now available for searching.

Since July 2014 we have been busy transcribing the Electoral Rolls for the East Trent area, which is a huge task, but will hopefully be very useful, particularly for locating adults after the 1911 census. Transcription will continue well into 2015, and hopefully records up to and including 1935 will appear on the website before the year is out.

Update on the above! This task has been enormous, and, as of January 2016, there is still a fair way to go with the transcription of the Electoral Registers, including some verification which was unanticipated. However, the end is in sight, and we expect that a subset (from 1920 to 1935) will appear on the website in the first half of 2016.

Yet another update! Oh dear, the Electoral Registers are still not on the website at the beginning of 2017! There are a number of reasons for this which we won't bore you with, but the current state of play is that all readily available records have now been transcribed. However, there are some missing years and further work is still being done to track those down. No further promises as we don't like continually breaking them.

Because the Electoral Rolls are a civil resource (like the censuses) rather than an ecclesiastical resource (like the parish registers), we will also be adding a new "Villages & Hamlets" sub-section to the Regional Resources section of our website, in an attempt to cross reference everything correctly and to keep it all relatively self-explanatory.

24 Oct 2013A quick "Last Name Search" box has been added at the top of each web page, which will take you to the new Search All Collections section for more complex searches. The Baptisms database can now be searched (and the results sorted) by birth year. The Burials database can now be searched by parents' or spouse's names.
16 Sep 2013The latest (1986 - 2013) marriage register for North Collingham (All Saints) has been transcribed and added to the list of registers in the Places of Worship section.
11 Sep 2013The Places of Worship section has been revamped and information about the denomination, current use, external websites and location of each church has been added.
29 Aug 2013Search results for baptisms, burials and marriages can now be sorted in date order as well as the default name order. The latest (2004 - 2013) marriage register for Winthorpe (All Saints) has been transcribed and added to the list of registers in the Places of Worship section.
21 Aug 2013Implementation of the new searchable database completed, now including Burial and Marriage records. The Surname Indexes have been removed, in effect; the menu link now only contains information about the new search pages.
3 Aug 2013The new searchable database is launched, initially including Baptism records. A new Regional Resources section is added, to initially include Places of Worship and details about the Parish Registers transcribed for each. The Baptism surname indexes have been removed, in effect, now only containing information about the new Baptisms search page.
